Chrysten Cunningham, MD

Dr. Cunningham always knew she wanted to be a physician—an Obstetrician/Gynecologist who can care for women throughout their whole lives.She attended the University of Pennsylvania where she majored in Biological Basis of Behavior. There she did research in the Pharmacology Department at UPenn medical school. This led her to get an osteopathic degree in medicine from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

After medical school, Dr. Cunningham was accepted for an obgyn residency with the US Navy at Walter Reed/Bethesda in the DC area. The Navy moved her and her husband to San Diego where Dr. Cunningham spent three years at Balboa. With her Navy commitment behind her, Dr. Cunningham settled into private practice, and has enjoyed helping her patients’ in the many stages of life. She is happy to be a part of the South Bay’s medical team.

Dr. Cunningham met her husband while she was in residency. They have two wonderful daughters—they are “California girls!” She enjoys walking, traveling, and spending time with her family and their dog Dune.
