Aiwei Wang, MD

Dr. Wang

Dr. Wang is Board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.  He received his medical degree and PhD from the Peking Union Medical College, Chinese Academy of Medical Science, Beijing, China.  He has been a member of South Bay OBGYN Medical Group since 2005.

In 2018, Dr. Shettigar took the opportunity to join South Bay OBGYN as it was expanding its volume and partners bringing him into the San Diego area.  He has a balanced practice of general obstetrics and gynecology with interest in laparoscopy and minimally invasive surgery.

Hilary Elkins, WHNP

Hilary Elkins, WHNP

Hilary Elkins has a Master of Science in Nursing, specializing as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner.  She attended and graduated from San Diego State University in May of 2016 and established herself as a Patient Care Specialist responsible for evaluating patients undergoing fertility treatments.

Prior to advancing her education, Hilary was a Triage, Labor and Delivery RN at a local hospital where she provided the highest standard of care to patients on a level III unit that delivers over 8,000 babies a year.  She was part of the Triage Core Team who were specifically trained to triage a wide range of obstetrical and gynecologic concerns.  Hilary functioned as a charge nurse overseeing the shift nurses and OB techs during several of her assignments.

Hilary is proficient in many GYN and OB related areas. She has a special interest in birth control management and fertility.

In October 2017, Hilary joined South Bay OBGYN as a staff Nurse Practitioner and has been putting all of her acquired skills to great use.  She is able to assist the practice with IUD and Nexplanon placements and removals, Annual Well Woman Exam’s, Urinary tract and vaginal infections, breast concerns. etc.  She is a highly dedicated and caring provider.

Hilary encourages menopausal women to engage in the benefits of optimizing their aging process with the use of Hormone Replacement Therapy. Her pelleting skills are excellent and the majority of her patients are enjoying relief from their menopausal symptoms.

In her free time, Hilary enjoys spending time with her daughter and friends.


Karleigh Powell, PA

Karleigh is a board-certified Physician Assistant who has been expanding her skills in women’s health.  She is originally from Michigan, where she received her bachelor’s degree in Biology, then went on to North Carolina to accomplish her Master of Science in Physician Assistant.

She joined the US Navy and fulfilled 4 years of active duty where her passion for women’s health began to flourish as she participated in women’s healthcare events, education sessions and was the program manager for the Artemis Program which assists pregnant and postpartum active duty females.

As a Reservist, Karleigh is stepping back to perform her continued commitment to the US Navy.


Madison Kalwicki, PA

Madison is a board-certified Physician Assistant originally from Western New York. There she attended Daemen University, where she received her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Before joining our team, she practiced in OBGYN as a Physician Assistant in NY.

She has always had an unwavering passion for women’s health, deeply rooted in being a role model to her younger sisters and continuously advocating for women’s empowerment. Prior to beginning her career as an OBGYN Physician Assistant, she pursued opportunities that would allow her to directly care for women, as evidenced by her experience in working at an infertility clinic in addition to providing women’s services in the Dominican Republic.

Madison finds providing care to women to be profoundly meaningful, inspiring, and fulfilling. She recognizes the privilege to build relationships with her patients and guide them through the multitude of experiences they may encounter in their lifetime. She is committed to cultivating a safe and supportive environment, making her patients feel heard, educated, and empowered. Her ultimate goal is for the women under her care to make informed choices and feel actively involved in their health.

She is enjoying this new chapter of her life here in Southern California and looks forward to continuing her dedicated work as an OBGYN Physician Assistant, meeting her patients, and serving women in the area.
