Dr. Bao-Quyen Nguyen graduated from UNTHSC Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, Texas. Her training here emphasized the importance of holistic medicine and treating the patient as a whole. She then moved to El Paso, TX where she completed residency training at Las Palmas Del Sol Medical Center. While working in El Paso, she developed a deep affection for her patients in the underserved, Hispanic border town. In order to continue serving this beloved community, she now relocates to Chula Vista. Dr. Quyen is excited to join such a highly skilled team at South Bay OBGYN. She is thrilled to be able to contribute to the team her expertise in minimally invasive surgery, stress incontinence, and high-risk obstetric care such as diabetes and hypertensive disease.

The aspect that drew Dr. Quyen to women’s health is connecting with women through all stages of their lives and being able to guide them through the happiest times (delivering their children) and the most confusing times (their first period or menopause). Her passion lies in empowering women to take control of their health and providing them with the tools they need to make informed decisions. She thoroughly enjoys getting to know her patients on a deeper level to be able to provide personalized care and build long-lasting relationships with her patients. She has a special interest in robotic laparoscopic surgery and diabetes management in pregnancy.

In her spare time, Dr. Quyen enjoys spending time outdoors with her dog, hiking, camping, and snowboarding. When not outside, she can be found crocheting, playing board games, or solving puzzles.
